About Michael
Michael Bagley is the Co-Founder and Partner of GillmanBagley, the firm behind GovCon Funding, bringing more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Michael leads GillmanBagley's GovCon-focused lending programs as the firm's GovCon Subject Matter Expert (SME), working with federal prime and subcontractors to structure accounts receivable financing, invoice factoring, asset-based lines of credit, and mobilization funding that lets contractors bid and perform with confidence.
Before co-founding GillmanBagley, Michael built his career in commercial finance, including time as a GovCon-focused executive at Provident Commercial Finance and prior roles at Triumph Business Capital, giving him direct experience on both the underwriting and client-facing sides of asset-based lending for government contractors. Michael is a regular voice in the GovCon community on LinkedIn, where he writes about the cash flow challenges contractors face after winning an award, from covering mobilization costs and payroll before the first invoice is paid, to bidding on larger contracts without fear of cash flow gaps.
Michael's approach is built on a people-first philosophy: “It's all about people. Service is not just about products. It's about building relationships that matter.” As a founding partner, he is deeply committed to driving GillmanBagley's mission of delivering the highest standard of service and funding solutions through a personal, consultative approach, a philosophy shaped by growing up in a family of entrepreneurs and three decades of focusing on the individual most directly impacted by the value of the service provided.
Michael is a graduate of Georgia State University and is based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. GillmanBagley is a regular exhibitor at GovCon industry events, including the National HUBZone Conference and VETS, where Michael connects directly with government contractors on financing strategy.
